Creating Storage Vaults

A Storage Vault is where the data for each backup is stored. Every new partner server comes with a default Vault created, often named after the company (ex. "EasyBackup Vault"). There are certain circumstances in which we encourage you to create an additional Storage Vault, including:

  • You want to back up data locally to an externally attached drive
  • A user account has over four devices, and you're experiencing the "cannot proceed, locked by device" error

After creating a new Vault, you will need to run a backup to automatically initialize it.

Creating Vault for External Drive

  1. Navigate to the desired user from the web dashboard (this can also be done on the client software)
  2. Click on the Storage Vaults tab
  3. Click the blue button "Add new vault..."
    1. Choose the "Custom" option
  4. On the left-hand side of the popup, click the Storage page
    1. From the dropdown at the top, change it to "Local"
    2. Specify the path to the attached external drive (ex. "E:\")
    3. (optional) Go back to the General page and name the Vault
    4. Click the green Save button

Creating Additional Cloud Vault (to separate user data)

  1. Navigate to the desired user from the web dashboard (this can also be done from the endpoint software)
  2. Click on the Storage Vaults tab
  3. Click the blue "Add new vault..." button
  4. Click the name of the default Storage Vault. Do NOT click "Custom"
    1. This will create another cloud Vault with the settings already configured for you
  5. Rename or set quota for this vault, if desired
