Setting Up a Custom Domain for Your Backup Portal

Magnus Box allows partners to customize their backup portal domain name through a simple DNS configuration. This feature lets you maintain consistent branding using our robust backup infrastructure. The process requires creating a CNAME record and coordinating with our support team.

Prerequisites:

  • Access to your DNS provider's settings
  • Your desired subdomain name
  • Your existing Magnus Box backup server URL

Step-by-Step Instructions:


  1. Choose Your Subdomain
    1. Decide on the subdomain you want to use (e.g., backup.yourcompany.com)
  2. Create CNAME Record
    1. Log into your DNS provider's control panel
    2. Create a new CNAME record
    3. Point your chosen subdomain to your existing Magnus Box backup server URL
  3. Request Configuration
    1. Send an email to support@magnusbox.com with:
      1. Your chosen subdomain
      2. Your company name
      3. Your existing backup server URL
  4. Implementation
    1. Our team will configure the custom domain on our end
    2. You'll receive confirmation once the setup is complete

Important Notes:

  • You can continue using either your custom subdomain or the original Magnus Box URL
  • This configuration doesn't affect your existing backups
  • DNS changes may take 24-48 hours to propagate fully
